Leicester forward Jamie Vardy mocked Tottenham fans during a surprise appearance t the BBC Radio 2 in the Park festival.

Vardy appeared on stage at the two-day event on Sunday to introduce a DJ set from Vernon Kay, and received a round of applause from his home crowd, with the event taking place in Leicester.

As he chatted to the crowd before the set, he turned the subject to football, aiming a slight dig at former rivals Spurs.

‘Still got no bottle’, the forward responded, likely aiming a jibe at Spurs from Leicester’s Premier League title win 2016.

Vardy played a key role when Leicester won their first ever Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri, scoring 24 league goals as he narrowly missed out on the golden boot to Harry Kane.

Though Tottenham may have beaten Leicester in the scoring charts, it was he Foxes who topped the table, winning the title by 10 points in the end.

They had been pushed by Spurs all the way as Mauricio Pochettino’s side chased their own first Premier League title.

North London rivals Arsenal eventually finished above them, however, and Spurs are still waiting to lift the domestic trophy, while Leicester were relegated to the Championship last season.

Spurs have since becoming synonymous among many fans with throwing away good opportunities, including the 2015/16 Premier League title charge and the 2019 Champions League final.

The club have endured a tough few years and missed out on European football altogether for this season but have started well in the league under Ange Postecoglou.

They are second in the table behind only Manchester City, ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal, who they face next week, on goal difference.

Leicester, meanwhile, are second in the Championship with five wins from their first six games under new manager Enzo Maresca, including a 4-1 victory over Southampton on Friday, when Vardy scored after 21 seconds.
