    Al-Qurashi was an Iraqi Islamist who passed away after triggering an explosive device during a counter-terrorism raid. He became the second Caliph of the Islamic State after being appointed by the shura council on October 31, 2019. 

    Previously, the U.S. Rewards for Justice Program offered up to $10 million in information related to Abu Ibrahim’s apprehension. His identity was speculated for a long time until January 2020, when a report confirming the ISIS leader’s true identity got revealed. 

    ISIS Leader – What Happened To Him?

    Abu Ibrahim Al Hashimi Al Qurashi died on February 2, 2022, in Atme, Syria. The United States President Joe Biden announced on February 3 that the U.S. military undertook a counterterrorism operation in Syria, which resulted in the ISIS Leader’s death. 

    A White House official revealed that during the Joint Special Operations Command operation, Abu had exploded a bomb that killed himself and the members of his family. The operation killed several civilians, including six children. 

    Last night at my direction, U.S. military forces successfully undertook a counterterrorism operation. Thanks to the bravery of our Armed Forces, we have removed from the battlefield Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi — the leader of ISIS.

    The Special Forces carried out the two-hour raid, where 13 people were killed. According to the eyewitnesses, there was blood everywhere. There were eruption noises from helicopters, machine-gun fire, and explosions. 

    President Biden thanked the skills and bravery of the Armed Forces, as they had taken off the ISIS leader, Al Qurashi, on the battlefield. In the statement, he further revealed that all the Americans have returned home safely after the operation, reports The New York Post. 

    Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashimi Al-Qurashi: Was He Married With A Wife?

    It is unclear if Abu Ibrahim Al Hashimi Al Qurashi was married to a wife. His identity and personal life details were not revealed to the public for years.

    Al Qurashi was described as an emir of war, a prominent figure in jihad, the worshiper, scholar, and the worker. 

    Abu Ibrahim Al Hashimi Al Qurashi Family Details Revealed

    Abu Ibrahim Al Hashimi Al Qurashi was born and raised into an Iraqi Turkmen family. He was born in October 1976, in Tal Afar, Iraq. His real name is Amir Mohammed Abdul Rahman al-Mawli al-Salbi. 

    Al Qurashi graduated from the University of Mosul with a degree in Sharia law. He worked as an army officer in Ba’athist Iraq. Ge joined Al-Qaeda, serving as a general Sharia Jurist and religious commissary after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Al Hashimi’s religion is Islam.
