Robert J. Alessi is an attorney and partner at DLA Piper in New York City, United States. As the Global Vice Chair of DLA Piper’s Energy Sector, he is frequently engaged by Fortune 100 clients, both domestic and international, for their significant energy, environmental, and financial services issues. This includes defending against government criminal and enforcement actions, handling judicial and administrative trials and appellate litigation, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading project development, and facilitating major transactions.

His multi-faceted legal expertise has gained him repeated recognition in leading legal rating publications such as The Best Lawyers in America, where he has been featured for 20 consecutive years and received a “Lawyer of the Year” honor.
