Franklin Graham does not seem to have Covid, but he came under fire from many Christian evangelicals on the issue. Here is more on that.
Franklin Graham is an American evangelical evangelist and missionary, and he frequently engages in Christian revival tours and political commentary.
Franklin is the son of an American evangelist, Billy Graham, a prominent evangelical Christian figure and an ordained Southern Baptist minister, who was internationally renowned.
Does Franklin Graham Have Covid?
Franklin Graham does not seem to have Covid, but his nephew, Pastor Jonathan Lotz, was hospitalized with COVID-19 back in July.
In May, Jonathan was in the intensive care unit, and Franklin Graham posted on Facebook encouraging everyone to get vaccinated. This post sparked outrage within the Evangelical community.
Since then, the debate as to whether get vaccinated or not has been on the uprise in the Christian community.
He further wrote that he thinks Jesus Christ would advocate for people using vaccines and medicines to treat suffering and save lives.
Franklin Graham has held his ground and continued to push for evangelical communities to get vaccinated.
He said his father, Billy Graham, who died in 2018, would urge them to do the same as he was a firm believer in medicine.
But a study was conducted by the Pew Research Center, which concluded that 45 percent of white Evangelicals told Pew they would likely not get a COVID-19 vaccine.
Even though he received pushback from many of those evangelicals in March after posting on Facebook, he praised them as he knew some people are afraid of needles and that some don’t like to be told what to do.
Franklin Graham Surgery and Health Update
Franklin Graham underwent specialized heart surgery on Monday, 8 November 2021, and is expected to make a full recovery.
According to the release from Samaritan’s Purse, he had the surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Franklin Graham, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association leader and president of the international Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, is expected to make a full recovery.
After the symptoms occurred, Graham was taken into surgery in time, and now he is in the recovery process.
The surgery involved removing the pericardium, a membrane enclosing the heart that offers it protection.
He should then be able to return to his regular activity and ministry schedule.
What Is Franklin Graham Illness?
Franklin Graham had developed constrictive pericarditis in recent months.
The condition causes inflammation, swelling, and irritation of the thin, sac-like tissue surrounding your heart. It hardens the sac around the heart and compresses the heart, and prevents it from working properly.
Chest pain is the most common symptom. It feels as though sharp stabbing. However, some people also feel dull, achy, or pressure-like chest pain.
Early diagnosis and treatment of pericarditis usually reduce the risk of long-term complications.
