Maggie Lawson Wiki: Early Life, Family, and Education
Maggie is the daughter of Mike Lawson, who worked as a hotel manager, and his wife Judy, a stay at home mom. She grew up in Louisville with her two brothers, Nick and Chris, and was educated at Assumption High School, an all-girls Catholic school. However, in her sophomore year, Maggie and her family moved to California, but after matriculating she enrolled at the University of Louisville, although there are no further details about her education.
Career Beginnings
Maggie’s career started when she was only eight, performing in local community and dinner theatre productions. She then became a host of the “Kid’s Club” aired on WDRB Fox 41, and held the position for the next six years before she and her family moved to Los Angeles, feeling that Maggie would have more chance there in starting her professional acting career. Well, they were right; Maggie made her acting debut in 1996, portraying Madelyn in the TV series “Unhappily Ever After” (1996-1997), after which Maggie continued with minor roles in such TV series as “Cybill” (1997), and “Home Improvement” (1998), while also appearing in the television film “I’ve Been Waiting for You”, and having a minor role in the highly-acclaimed fantasy drama film “Pleasantville”, written and directed by Gary Ross, and starring Tobey Maguire, Jeff Daniels and Joan Allen.

Rise to Prominence
Gradually, Maggie improved her status and began appearing in recurring roles in such TV series as “Family Rules” and “Party of Five”, both in 1999, while in 2002 she had the lead role in the independent film “Heart of a Stanger”, next to Jane Seymour and Vince Corazza, while in 2003 she secured her first notable role, as Liz Stoddard-Banks in the TV comedy series “It’s All Relative” (2003-2004). She was slowly becoming more popular, and in 2006 reached stardom with the part of Juliet O’Hara in the TV mystery-crime series “Psych”, co-starring James Roday and Timothy Omundson. The show aired until 2014, during which time Maggie became one of the most prominent television actresses, and concurrently starred in several films, however, these failed to make an impact with audiences and so on her career. After “Psych” ended, Maggie was announced as a star of the new TV comedy series “Angel from Hell” (2016), while before that she portrayed Ms. McMartin in the final season of the extremely popular comedy series “Two and a Half Men” (2014-2015).
