In 2012, Freeman was cast in the third season of “The Vampire Diaries” in the role of Sage. The series is based on the popular book series of the same name written by L. J. Smith, and would run until 2017. She was also cast as one of the stars of a new series by A&E and Netflix entitled “Longmire”, in the role of Cady Longmire – the series is based on a series of novels entitled “Walt Longmire Mysteries” by best-selling author Craig Johnson, and is focused on a sheriff located in the fictional county Absaroka in Wyoming, as he investigates crimes within his jurisdiction.

Aside from her acting work, Freeman also works with her brother Clark, teaming up with Andy Mitton to form the band called The Real D’Coy, in which she sings and plays the.
