The American survivor of sex-trafficking Sara Kruzan doesn’t have a husband. She has been in prison since 17 years old for the murder of her trafficker George Gilbert Howard who began to groom her at 11 for the sex industry.
After she was discovered fatally killing her trafficker, Kruzan was convicted of first-degree murder without any possibility of parole until recently when she was pardoned in July 2022.
That mentioned, she had a boyfriend named Johnny Otis whose On learning about her background Johnny’s ex-con uncle James Earl Hampton threatened her to kill George or else he would kill his mother.
It was when Kruzan agreed the Hampton’s order, that she killed Howard after they decided to meet for a date and spend the night at the Dynasty Suites Motel on the 10th of March 2022.

She shot Howard at a close range in his neck and took $1500 from his wallet. After taking keys to his Jaguar, Kruzan went to meet her boyfriend and his ex-con-uncle Hampton in a local supermarket.
The dead body of George was discovered by Dynasty Suites motel’s housekeeping staff. A warrant was issued for Kruzan’s arrest after her identification card and purse were discovered in the motel room.
Four days later, on the 14th of March 1994, after the murder of Howard in the motel, the American sex-trafficking survivor was arrested reportedly at home where her boyfriend’s uncle Hampton was residing in Pomona.
California Youth Authority concluded Kruzan was suitable for treatment in the juvenile justice system after an evaluation; yet, a local judge, at the urging of Tim Freer, the prosecutor, transferred her to the adult court.
