Marcus Fairs passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. He was 54 years old and had been still serving as the CEO of Dezeen.
The news of his death reached the Internet after four days. Consequently, his admirers are totally shocked to hear the unexpected news.

The Architects’ Journal has tweeted: ” We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Marcus Fairs – what he accomplished with Dezeen was a phenomenal contribution to architecture and design publishing and we are all the poorer for losing him. Our thoughts are with his colleagues, friends, and family.”
Rob Fiehn of MOA writes: “Awful awful news. A pioneer indeed and he certainly reshaped design media as we know it. A huge loss to the industry and I hope his family can find some solace in the knowledge that he will be missed by so many.”
Fairs is survived by his wife Rupinder Bhogal, a Dezeen director, his children Jordi and Millie Fairs, his parents David Fairs and Georgina Ledward, and his sister Elly Fairs.
