PGA TOUR LIVE To Debut On-Screen Odds From DraftKings At Wyndham Championship

Starting this week at the Wyndham Championship, PGA TOUR LIVE will begin incorporating odds-based content from DraftKings Sportsbook into its subscription-based streaming coverage during the opening two rounds. While golf fans might have seen on-screen odds during “The Match II” charity competition in May, this will be the first time such content is actually integrated into coverage of a PGA TOUR event.

DraftKings in July 2019 became the tour’s first official daily fantasy game and two weeks ago expanded its multiyear relationship by being designated the tour’s first “Official Betting Operator.”

“The PGA TOUR has a broad strategy to more meaningfully engage and educate fans through betting-related content on owned and partner platforms,” said Norm Gambuzza, PGA TOUR Senior Vice President, Media and Gaming. “PGA TOUR LIVE is a subscription product for core golf fans and we felt this was the ideal place to produce and distribute this first-ever betting content, tying odds-based insights into featured group coverage.

Prior to the Thursday and Friday tee times of the morning featured groups each week, GolfBet analyst Jason Sobel or one of his colleagues will provide favorite picks and bets for that day during a video call on PGA TOUR LIVE. Odds from DraftKings Sportsbook will be featured in onscreen graphics during these segments and also be incorporated in a limited fashion throughout the day’s play.

“We hope to educate our fans about betting and gain insights into how best to integrate this type of content into our coverage in the future on all platforms,” Gambuzza said. “We also believe that by being one of the first sports leagues to integrate betting segments into our OTT content, we will attract new fans to our platforms.”

Golf is the fourth-most popular option in terms of sports betting on DraftKings and has seen a significant rise in interest since the PGA TOUR’s return in June, with several of the most popularly-bet PGA TOUR events in the company’s history. The PGA TOUR and The Action Network in March launched GolfBet, a first-of-its-kind, golf-focused betting platform.

All DraftKings Sportsbook and daily fantasy users will receive a free trial of PGA TOUR LIVE’s streaming content for the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
