Progressive Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is facing criticism for her use of campaign funds, which have been allocated toward luxurious accommodations, limousine services, and personal security during her travels across the nation this year.
The Texas Democrat, recognized as an emerging figure within her party, has accumulated a significant amount of campaign expenditures in 2023. According to Fox News’ analysis of her Federal Election Commission records, Crockett, aged 44, has spent at least $75,000 on high-end hotels, transportation, and security services.
Representing parts of Dallas, Crockett’s travel records indicate visits to major cities such as San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, and New York City, as well as the upscale area of Martha’s Vineyard. Her campaign expenses for travel alone have surpassed $25,000 this year.
Among the detailed travel expenditures are payments of $2,700 to Transportation 4 U Limo service, $2,300 to DCA Car LLC, and $1,250 to Bay Area Limousine, as reflected in her filings.
So far this year, the progressive has spent over $25,000 in campaign funds on travel alone.
Those travel payments include $2,700 for Transportation 4 U Limo service, $2,300 for DCA Car LLC and $1,250 for Bay Area Limousine, according to the filings.
Crockett’s spending on luxury hotels included a nearly $4,200 bill at the Ritz-Carlton, a $5,300 stay at the West Hollywood Edition, $2,300 at The Luxury Collection, nearly $1,200 at the Times Square Edition, over $2,000 at the Cosmopolitan and Aria resort in Las Vegas, as well as two trips totaling roughly $3,000 each to the Edgartown Inn and The Coco in Martha’s Vineyard.
‘While families in TX30 are fighting to pay rent and buy groceries, she’s blowing campaign cash at the Ritz, the Cosmopolitan, and luxury resorts coast-to-coast,’ Sholdon Daniels, who is running for Crockett’s congressional seat, posted on X.

‘That ain’t representation,’ the candidate added. ‘That’s recreation on we the people’s dime.’
The remaining $50,000 was spent on personal security, the records show. That massive price tag comes despite Crockett’s past calls to defund the police.
‘The Defund movement seeks to actually bring about healing and finally invest in our communities to make them safer, addressing the root causes of crime and by allowing the professionals to do their respective jobs,’ Crockett said in 2021 when she was a Texas state legislator.
‘Defund is about finally being smart on crime. Defund is about lightening the load for our offices of all things they didn’t sign up for. Defund is about finally being fiscally responsible when it comes to policing in this state.’
Crockett has raised her profile in recent years by outspokenly condemning President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans’ agenda. She’s become a main figure symbolizing Democratic resistance to the Trump administration.
Her barbs have earned the congresswoman the scorn of Trump, who has repeatedly slammed the Texan as ‘low IQ.’
It also earned her an enviable speaking slot at last year’s Democratic National Convention, where she boosted her national recognition.
Crockett has risen so quickly that she is seriously considering a run for US Senate against incumbent Republican Senator John Cornyn.

‘I am seriously weighing it to the extent that I’m about to spend a lot of money to get data,’ she told Politico in October.
The congresswoman has also been embroiled in controversy this year.
During remarks at a LGBT gala in March, Crockett ridiculed Texas Governor Gregg Abbott for being paralyzed.
‘Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there – come on now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a** mess, honey,’ Crockett said.
Her comments immediately earned the Democrat condemnation from her Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill and beyond.
Crockett’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.
