Dr. Mehmet Oz, a former television host turned Medicaid chief under President Donald Trump, has been unexpectedly linked to financier Jeffrey Epstein, as revealed in recently unearthed documents. At 65, Oz, who serves as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), reportedly invited Epstein to a Valentine’s Day celebration in 2016. This invitation was discovered in a document published by the Department of Justice, appearing to be sent via Paperless Post, a digital card service. The gathering was to take place at Oz’s residence in Palm Beach.
This was just one of several email exchanges between Oz and Epstein from 2012 to 2016. These communications occurred years after Epstein was convicted in Florida for soliciting a minor, which led to his status as a registered sex offender. Epstein was found dead on August 10, 2019, in what was ruled a suicide while he awaited trial for sex trafficking charges. Another email from January 1, 2016, between the two is unreadable due to encryption.
Oz is among several notable figures from the Trump administration identified in the document, showing connections with Epstein. The CMS has not responded to inquiries from the Daily Mail regarding this matter. In related news, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick testified before Congress this week concerning his own ties to Epstein, which included a meeting on Epstein’s notorious private island. Democrats on the Senate Commerce Committee have accused Lutnick of providing misleading information about his relationship with the disgraced financier.
‘You misled the country and the Congress based on your earlier statements suggesting that you cut off all contact when in fact you had not,’ Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen said to Lutnick. Lutnick told the New York Post last year that he cut ties with the financier after first meeting in 2005. He said because he was too creeped out by Epstein and decided that he ‘will never be in the room with that disgusting person ever again.’ But that was not their last interaction; the new files show that Lutnick and his family rendezvous on the island in 2012.
‘No, I wasn’t aware of it,’ Trump said when asked about Lutnick’s visit, which was supposedly for lunch as he was sailing by on a vacation with his family. ‘I actually haven’t spoken to him about it,’ Trump continued, ‘but from what I hear, he was there with his wife and children.’ The president and other famous figures, like Bill Clinton, Elon Musk, and scores more, are also named. Trump’s name appears hundreds of times.
