Mark Epstein, the brother of the infamous and deceased financier, has made a startling allegation that names of Republicans are being removed from official government records related to his late brother. Speaking to NewsNation on Monday, Mark Epstein claimed, “I’ve been informed that the reason these documents are set to be released is because they are being sanitized.” He suggested that a reliable source tipped him off that the FBI is actively involved in cleaning these files.
Mark Epstein further alleged that there is a facility located in Winchester, Virginia, where this supposed purging of files is taking place, specifically to eliminate the names of Republicans. Although he did not provide any specific names, his claims have raised questions. The FBI, which operates a Central Records Complex in Winchester, Virginia, has not commented on these assertions. Mark also mentioned that his brother had compromising information on President Donald Trump, implying that such revelations could have impacted the 2016 election. He asserted, “Jeffrey definitely had dirt on Trump,” and insisted it is “provable” that Trump had visited Jeffrey Epstein’s residence, despite Trump’s denials.
When asked about the recently released emails between him and Jeffrey Epstein, Mark chose not to comment, describing them as private exchanges between brothers. Mark Epstein remains vocal against the official narrative of his brother’s death, questioning the government’s conclusion of suicide. He accuses FBI Director Kash Patel of concealing the true circumstances surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s 2019 death. The FBI and Justice Department, however, have stood by their findings, stating in a joint release this past summer that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.
Mark Epstein’s claims that the files are being edited on the conservatives’ behalf cut directly against what Trump has been saying. The president has repeatedly labeled the Epstein scandal as a ‘Democratic hoax,’ and he has noted how many of the A-listers that have appeared in the files were liberals, like former President Bill Clinton and Bill Gates. In a sudden reversal over the weekend, Trump has come out in favor of Republican lawmakers voting to release the Epstein files after spending months downplaying the matter and urging the GOP to avoid the scandal.
The US House of Representatives passed a bill on Tuesday to release additional FBI and DOJ documents with overwhelming support. Only one lawmaker, Congressman Clay Higgins, voted against the disclosure. ‘As written, this bill reveals and injures thousands of innocent people – witnesses, people who provided alibis, family members, etc.,’ Higgins later wrote.
The bill will now head to the Senate, where it is expected to garner widespread support. Trump has said he will sign the bill if it ever makes it to his desk. However, given that the president ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to reopen an investigation into Epstein, it remains to be seen how many files will be released now that the probe is once again active.
