Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed her outrage on Wednesday following widespread criticism over her decision to resign before her term ends, citing threats to her safety. Facing backlash from within her own Republican Party after announcing she would step down in January 2026, Greene was criticized for ending her term a year early. Conservative commentator and filmmaker Michael Cernovich, addressing his large following on X, urged her to complete her term, stating, “You need to serve out your full term.”

Cernovich, a prominent right-wing figure, insisted through multiple posts that Greene’s early resignation was inappropriate. In response, the Georgia representative hit back sharply, questioning whether she had suffered enough for his approval. “Oh, I haven’t suffered enough for you while you post all day behind a screen?” she retorted. “Do I have to stay until I’m assassinated like our friend Charlie Kirk? Will that be good enough for you then?” Greene accused Cernovich of spending his time “posting on the internet all day” while criticizing those actively engaged in politics. She challenged him directly, saying, “Get off your [expletive] and run for Congress.”

Greene continued the exchange by using it as an example of what she perceives as a broader pattern of GOP men undermining Republican women. “Typical of Republican men telling a woman to ‘shut up, get back in the kitchen and fix me something to eat,’” she commented in another post, adding a sharp retort in a southern drawl. This online clash reveals the growing rift between Greene and her party, which she has increasingly felt distanced from.

Last week, after a high-profile feud with President Donald Trump – formerly one of Greene’s close allies – the congresswoman shocked Washington, D.C., with her resignation announcement. Trump had grown increasingly frustrated with Greene as she supported releasing additional government files on Jeffrey Epstein, and for her turning on GOP congressional leadership, with whom she often butted heads. The fallout hit a fever pitch when Trump labeled Greene as a ‘traitor’ and ‘wacky,’ showing that their close relationship had frayed.

Trump then made Greene’s return to Congress questionable after vowing to support whoever stepped up to primary her. In her barn-burning post last week, she claimed that Republicans will ‘likely lose the midterms’ next year. Concluding her fiery attack against Cernovich, MTG urged GOP men to do more for the party.

‘I have been trying tell all you “men” that our kitchen pantry is empty with spider webs, our house has been ransacked, the windows and doors are broken and busted, and the greedy rich [expletive] have twisted your minds into a sick state that you all continue in the two party toxic political system that acts like college football playoffs yet is burying you and your children and their children and their children in a pine box in a shallow grave,’ she wrote. ‘Get off your [expletive] and fix your own damn food and clean up the kitchen when you’re done.’
