The View descended into chaos Monday after Meghan McCain compared Marjorie Taylor Greene to Ilhan Omar before slamming the media for protecting The Squad – triggering the show’s liberal cast members to come after her.

McCain noted that Greene – who was widely condemned for comparing Nancy Pelosi’s new House of Representatives rule on face masks to the Holocaust – has been stripped from two House committee assignments.

She then pointed to that fact that Ilhan Omar is still on the Foreign Affairs Committee, after her tweets accusing Israel of having ‘hypnotized the world’.

McCain said: ‘She [Greene] has been stripped of her committee. She has absolutely no legislative power.

‘Which juxtaposed when Ilhan Omar said Jewish people had hypnotized and the world and it was all about the Benjamins she’s still on the Foreign Relations Committee.’

And the conservative commentator did not hold back her frustrations in what she said is ‘blatant bias in the media’, adding: ‘I would love if the energy that is being put on one crazy woman in Congress – and by the way, if she is the face of the Republicans, then the Squad is the face of the Democrats – I would love Democrats to put that same type of energy onto what’s happening on the left.

‘Because quite frankly, this is how people get red-pilled. They’re red pilled when they see the blatant bias in the media.

The ‘red pill’ reference originally comes from the 1999 movie The Matrix but the phrase has since become an online meme used by the alt-right and men’s rights activists referring to a life-changing truth.

McCain added: ‘The media doesn’t want The Squad to look bad. They just want Marjorie Taylor Greene to look bad.’

The View had decided to discuss the topic Monday with McCain questioning why they were now focusing on Greene’s comments.

She added: ‘I’m confused as to what has risen this to a hot topic, because as I bought up last week there is a huge rise in anti-Semitic attacks against Jewish people.’

Acknowledging that she ‘can’t stand’ Taylor Greene and calling her a ‘crazy person’, McCain argued: ‘This was all happening last week.’

She then went onto list specific examples of anti Semitic attacks happening around the world and in the US in the wake of 11 days of fighting between Israelis and Palestinians that ended with a cease-fire early on Friday.

Goldberg yelled back: ‘ I’m cutting you off because we have to go, Meghan. Why do you think I’m cutting you off?’

Her spat continued after the break with Joy Behar who told her to ‘have some respect’.

Taylor Greene was widely panned after she compared mask mandates to the Holocaust.

She said: ‘You know, we can look back at a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany.

‘And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about.’

Taylor Greene made her comments last week on an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network. She was referring to Pelosi asking for proof that House members had been vaccinated before they could take the floor unmasked.

The Squad, meanwhile, is made up of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib, all congresswomen.

Omar has made a series of controversial comments since joining Congress. She was was forced to apologize for her infamous ‘It’s all about the Benjamins, baby’ comment that many colleagues in both parties called out as anti-Semitic.

The longtime critic of Israel, received bipartisan criticism in 2019 when she suggested that pro-Israel politicians were being paid by the pro-Israel American Israel Public Affairs Committee lobby.

After returning from the commercial break the spat continued. Joy Behar, top center, told McCain she 'resented' her comments, McCain hit back: 'I resent a lot of things, so we're even.' Behar replied: 'I've been talking about anti-Semitism for 25 freaking years. Don't tell me what I'm supposed to be saying, Meghan. You do your thing and we do ours'

On the view, after returning from the commercial break the spat continued with Sunny Hostin saying ‘criticizing the Israeli government and some of its tactics are not the same as being anti-Semitic’.

McCain, who has been a co-host of the ABC show since 2017, said: ‘When anti-Semitism shows itself on the right, it is easy to spot with crazy people and tiki torches. When it manifests on the left, it’s a lot more insidious and a lot more sinister and a lot more difficult to define.’

After Joy Behar told McCain she ‘resented’ her comments, McCain hit back: ‘I resent a lot of things, so we’re even.’ Behar replied: ‘I’ve been talking about anti-Semitism for 25 freaking years. Don’t tell me what I’m supposed to be saying, Meghan.

‘You do your thing and we do ours.’

‘I’m well aware we do separate things on this show, Joy, okay. I know you’ve been here 25 years. I’ve been here for 4,’ McCain said.

Behar said: ‘That’s right. You should have some respect for that.’

The argument ended with Goldberg telling the hosts and viewers: ‘Nobody wants everybody arguing. We would like everybody to stop.’
