The robot, using a distinctly feminine voice, took the opportunity to welcome the First Lady. “Thank you, First Lady Melania Trump, for welcoming me to the White House,” it announced. “It is an honor to be present at the inaugural meeting of Fostering the Future Together’s Global Coalition.” Identifying itself as Figure 3, a humanoid crafted in the USA, the robot expressed its enthusiasm about participating in this historic initiative aimed at equipping children with technological and educational tools. It also greeted the audience in 11 different languages.

Figure 3 gracefully navigated the room, circling the table where discussions were underway, before exiting through the White House’s Cross Hall. Melania Trump highlighted the significance of this moment by noting, “It’s fair to say, you’re my first American-made humanoid guest.” The event unfolded over two days, drawing spouses and delegates from key U.S. allies, against a backdrop of heightened tensions due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.

During Tuesday’s Fostering the Future Together initiative at the State Department, the First Lady was joined by Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska and the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sara Netanyahu. Israel and the US went to war with Iran together, but the President expressed disgust when Israel targeted one of Iran’s oil fields last week, telling reporters that he had schooled Netanyahu not to do that again.
