Nikki Haley’s son, Nalin Haley, made his television debut on Fox News, where the host praised his intelligence and independence.

However, the reception from online viewers was far less favorable, with many criticizing him as out-of-touch and hypocritical.

Nalin, who works in finance in the Charlotte area after earning his degree from Villanova University, shared with Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy his concerns about homeownership, stating he doesn’t see how he’ll ever own a house. He also mentioned that many of his peers are struggling to secure jobs post-graduation.

Despite acknowledging that he’s doing “pretty well” financially, Nalin expressed that he still feels the economic pressures that many in Generation Z face.

His comments, however, drew backlash on social media, with some accusing him of hypocrisy.

A Twitter user with the handle @wokeafliberal remarked, “I’m tired of rich nepo kids of politicians acting like they experience any of the things he said,” suggesting that Nalin lives a privileged life with frequent travels and a luxury car, as depicted on his Instagram account.

Photos posted by Haley include numerous snaps of him traveling to luxury destinations around the world, dining at the Versace Mansion in Miami, smoking cigars, and driving a BMW.  

‘He didn’t sound ‘conservative’, he sounded disenfranchised and abandoned, His positions don’t align with a party, but they are legitimate concerns,’ noted X user @JonathonEDavis.

 Campos-Duffy also asked Haley what he thinks of the Trump administration introducing the idea of a 50-year mortgage, to which he responded ‘whatever will lower the cost of houses.’ 

‘Anything to put American workers first, lower the cost of housing, I think we should absolutely do it,’ Haley told Campos-Duffy. 

Haley also doubled down on the idea of banning H-1 B visas, which are used by companies to bring foreign workers into the United States. 

The large majority of H1B visa holders come from India, the same country that Haley’s maternal grandparents hail from.

Asked about his opposition to H-1 B visas, given his background, Haley added that people shouldn’t be surprised, as he has seen what the importation of foreign workers has done to his friends, and that his loyalty is to Americans first. 

Some social media voices did seem to commend Haley for speaking up, with X user  @KellyLMcCarty telling Haley ‘you’re over the target when both sides come at you,’ and that ‘as a mom (Gen X) of Gen Z daughters (one who is close to your age), I’m seeing the same thing happening to you all.’

‘They’ll criticize you now, but they’ll have to call you ‘Mr. President’ in the future, and they’ll be lining up begging for jobs for themselves,’ added X user @crucifixwearer.
