In a recent flurry of activity on Truth Social, Donald Trump unleashed a torrent of conspiratorial claims, one of which involved former First Lady Michelle Obama and President Joe Biden’s use of an infamous autopen. The former president’s prolific posting spree, spanning from 7 PM until midnight, saw him share over 160 posts, many of which originated from MAGA-aligned influencers like YouTuber Benny Johnson and Scott Jennings. The sheer volume of posts and the nature of the content have raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.
Among the more outlandish claims was a video from Alex Jones, a known MAGA conspiracy theorist, which Trump decided to repost. This video, aired on Jones’s InfoWars program, carried a provocative caption suggesting that Michelle Obama might have wielded Biden’s autopen during the final days of his administration to issue pardons for crucial figures. Throughout his presidency, Trump has frequently accused Biden of over-relying on an autopen for executive orders and pardons, particularly as his term drew to a close.
In the last days of his presidency, Biden indeed issued pardons to several individuals, including retired General Mark Milley and Dr. Anthony Fauci, both of whom have been critical of Trump. However, there is no credible evidence supporting the theory that Michelle Obama was involved in these last-minute pardons. Yet, Trump’s Truth Social account was a whirlwind of self-reposts throughout the night, as he seemed determined to amplify his own messages within moments of their initial publication.
Trump also shared videos that went after his political enemies, such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and former president Barack Obama. Before reposting dozens of videos and memes, Trump attacked Democratic Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly by referring to him as a ‘traitor’ after he appeared in a video with other lawmakers calling on the military servicemembers to refuse illegal orders from the president .
‘Mark Kelly and the group of Unpatriotic Politicians were WRONG to do what they did, and they know it!’ Trump wrote in his late-night rant. ‘I hope the people looking at them are not duped into thinking that it’s OK to openly and freely get others to disobey the President of the United States!’ The president took aim at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz who he previously referred to as a ‘retard’ for allowing Muslim immigrants to settle in his state.
Moreover, Trump promoted his latest ‘reverse migration’ initiative that cuts back legal immigration from third-world countries into the US following the fatal Washington DC shooting last week . The administration has suspended all immigration services for Afghan refugees fleeing the Taliban after it was revealed that the suspect in the shooting was Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal.
