Inside Trump's quiet takeover of the Gen Z streaming universe and its MILLIONS of followers ... and the left is quaking

As President Donald Trump began his speech to Congress on Tuesday, video-game streamer Asmongold went live to react to speech for his millions of followers.

‘That is a new tie, I haven’t seen that at all,’ he commented as Trump entered the congressional chamber wearing a purple tie and started shaking hands with members of Congress.

Asmongold, whose real name is Zach Hoyt, is an American content creator, YouTuber, and Twitch streamer with about 5.4 million followers across platforms.

After spotting a member of Congress holding a sign behind Trump that read ‘This is not normal,’ Hoyt commented, ‘Yeah, I’ve seen these a few times, seems pretty normal.’

But after Trump began speaking, it was anything but normal as Rep. Al Green stood up and started shouting and waving his cane at the president.

‘All right this is what I tuned in for! Let’s go!’ he shouted, laughing into his camera.

Hoyt burst into incredulous laughter as Green kept shouting despite being warned by Speaker Johnson to restore order in the chamber.

‘They’re going crazy! This is a crash out. I feel like we’ve got a crash out!’ he exclaimed, using a slang term used describe an exhausted individual who goes into a meltdown.

It was a perfect term to describe the Democrats that evening as they kept vocally protesting Trump’s speech as other Democrats walked out in protest and bitterly refused to applaud any of his proposals.

‘Absolute crash out. It is,’ he said.

When Trump mentioned Elon Musk and DOGE, Hoyt marveled: ‘I can’t believe they memed this into existence. Can you hear all the boos?’

As Trump read off the bizarre list of government expenditures that DOGE had uncovered, Hoyt expressed his amazement.

For Hoyt and gaming streamers in the audience Trump was delivering the goods and the entertainment they had grown to love during the campaign.

By the end of the speech, there were nearly one million viewers on his livestream.

‘Trump injected an element of excitement and fun into politics, which inspired people of all different backgrounds to take an active interest,’ Alex Bruesewitz, a Trump advisor and CEO of X Strategies told DailyMail.com.

Bruesewitz helped coordinate Trump’s courtship of the gamer community together with Barron Trump.

Hoyt, who publicly endorsed Trump in 2024 is still talking politics on his stream even though the election is over.

The videos of him reacting to normally mundane political events are still popular with his audience.

A rundown video of the Trump and Zelensky interview drew over one million views and  his commentary on the Zelensky interview with Fox News attracted a massive 2.3 million.

‘Trump resonates with young voters because he doesn’t take himself too seriously, which they find refreshing. He’s funny, and he’s constantly delivering viral moments — they love it,’ Zach Henry, who runs digital strategy company, Total Virality, told DailyMail.com.

As expected, some fans of Hoyt’s gamer content are rebelling, complaining about his pivot to reactive political content, but like Trump, he revels in taking on the haters.

Hoyt and his fans insist the haters are just jealous of his streaming success and newfound popularity.

In January, his popularity skyrocketed after he went to war with Elon Musk, accusing him of using a paid boosted character on the ‘Hardcore’ mode in the game Path of Exile 2.

Hoyt and other gamers called out the multi-billionaire’s play style and apparent unfamiliarity with the game mechanics, questioning how his character was so extraordinarily leveled up in the hardcore mode of the game.

Part of Musk’s ethos is that he has the time to level up as an expert gamer while also helping run six companies and working with DOGE.

The controversy triggered Musk to lash out at Hoyt, even leaking direct messages with him to suggest he was not an authentic gamer because he had editors post his content.

But on Tuesday night, Hoyt is relishing in Trump’s victories in Congress, even as Musk is with the president on Capitol Hill.

He grins as angry Democrats make a hasty exit after Trump finishes his speech.

‘They’re leaving so fast bro, yeah, they roachin’ out,’ he jeers.

The rise of pro-Trump gamers

Aiden Ross was the first major gamer streamer to host Trump on his platform in August 2024.

Together they did the Trump dance and talked about politics, shocking the gaming community for the unprecedented collaboration that has 2.3 million views.

For Ross, it was the culmination of a long effort to host the former president after he first met Trump at a UFC fight in April 2023.

Other gamers endorsed Trump in 2024, including FaZe Banks (Ricky Banks) the founder and owner of the esports group Faze Clan and Nickmercs, (Nick Kolcheff,).

Trump specifically thanked Ross in his victory speech, which shocked the entire community.

‘It’s just good for streaming in general,’ Ross reflected on election night. ‘I’m already texting Trump’s team, part two at the White House, that streams going to be crazy.’

The White House declined to comment about future events with Trump’s gamer community.

Seven months later Ross is sporadically streaming on Kick, after he was permanently banned on Twitch, for using unmoderated chats on his streams.

On Wednesday, Ross went live to chat with his fans to talk about his next big project, even though he admits ‘I’ve had a rough couple of weeks bro’ as the cryptocurrency market has cratered.

Rumors on social media preview an interview with Joe Rogan next week.

Ross spots in his Discord chat the viral clip of Donald Trump and DJ, young teenager with terminal cancer that Trump featured in his speech.

‘I like this guy by the way, this kids a W on God. Shoutout to DJ,’ he says, pulling up the clip. ‘This is a beautiful story. Such a great fu**ing kid dude, really really amazing.’

The ‘canceled’ left

As Trump began his speech to Congress, left-wing video game streamer HasanABi (Hasan Piker) shocked has fans as he went live on Twitch wearing a MAGA hat.

Piker’s account on Twitch was suspended a day earlier for comments he made about Sen. Rick Scott online.

‘If you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott,’ Piker said, using language that is not allowed on the platform.

Piker relished in the attention he got after he was banned and claimed he was being ‘canceled’ because of his views on his livestream that immediately drew 1.4 million views on Twitch.

Now he sarcastically pretends to be a Trump supporter, promising to be ‘apolitical’ so he doesn’t get banned again.

‘If you are a leftist content creator especially one as prominent as I am especially one with a variety of different haters from all different backgrounds all different political ideologies I have to be more careful,’ he tells his fans.

As Trump begins speaking, he puts the MAGA hat on.

‘I am apolitical and the hat of course helps you recognize the simple populist position and also the centrist position as a centrist I would like to wear my centrist shield,’ he says sarcastically.

Piker is an unapologetic left-wing gamer/commentator who got his start with his uncle Cenk Uygar on the Young Turks online politics show.

During the election, Piker hosted some of the pro-Trump gamers to talk politics, stunned by what he was hearing from some of the top streamers in his community.

‘No! FaZe Banks, we lost him!’ Piker lamented while reading his endorsement of Trump on his feed, noting he was ‘shocked’ and ‘distraught’ by the news.

‘Never in a million years think I would be on a Hasan livestream talking about politics, I’m not a political guy,’ FaZe Banks said, after joining Piker to discuss his decision.

These days Piker is fighting more battles with some the ‘Trumper’ gamers and complains that there are unprecedented forces in the community trying to get him banned.

‘Big shout out to the right-wing free speech lovers who took time out of their day screaming about DEI & immigrants, to cry abt this!’ he wrote on X sarcastically.

But Piker is drawing more views than ever as more consultants are reaching out to Piker to learn how to reach young men like Trump as they struggle in the political wilderness.

For Piker to really rally his audience, the left has to start winning again before he can celebrate in livestreams and rub their victories in his opponents’ faces.

After all, for gamers it’s all about winning.
