Queenslanders pack nightclubs in celebration of easing restrictions

Queenslanders were seen hitting the town last night to mark a new milestone of easing coronavirus restrictions.

Stage three restrictions have now been lifted across the state meaning large parties, nightclubbing and community sport are all permitted.

Videos from last night show jovial groups packing into bars and clubs to enjoy their first night out in almost four months.

Queensland has recorded no new cases overnight as state health authorities fight to keep numbers down.

Meanwhile, NSW has recorded six new cases of the virus as of 8pm last night, Friday July 3.

Five of the new cases are returned travellers who are now undertaking two weeks in hotel quarantine.

The sixth case is a student from Green Point Christian College on the Central Coast however results indicate this is a past infection and not an active case.
