Real Madrid host Girona on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu in what promises to be an entertaining and decisive match in the La Liga title race.

The two sides have traded positions at the top of the table for most of the season. Girona have done well to keep up so far, though a few pesky draws have opened the door for Los Blancos to take a two-point lead heading into this fixture.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will go five points clear with a victory this weekend as they seek to reclaim the La Liga title, having last won it in 2021/22.

Here’s all you need to know about the huge clash in Spain.

Real Madrid confirmed lineup vs Girona (4-3-1-2): Lunin; Vazquez, Carvajal, Tchouameni, Mendy; Camavinga, Kroos, Valverde; Bellingham; Vinicius, Rodrygo.

Girona predicted lineup vs Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Gazzaniga; Couto, E. Garcia, Martinez, Gutierrez; A. Garcia, Solis; Tsygankov, Martin, Savio; Portu.

Neutrals will be keenly watching this match unfold on Saturday and plenty will be cheering for Girona against established giants Madrid. A victory for the visitors would certainly make the title race even more exciting.

However, Los Blancos have dropped points in just two of their home games in front of their own fans so far this season. Add in the quality and experience Girona will be missing in Blind and Herrera and it seems likely Madrid will extend their lead at the top of the table.
