The New York Red Bulls have offered a holiday pack to its fans before the start of the 2023-24 MLS season in February, only to be mocked by league rival, Charlotte FC on social media for it.

The Red Bulls released their deal late on Tuesday, and it includes a travel mug, a bull collectible figure, a ticket to the team’s season opener, which has yet to be decided, and a ticket to the club’s derby game against arch foes, New York City FC.

However, if the Red Bulls are drawn against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami CF in the home opener, then each home opener ticket will be replaced with a ticket to New York’s second home match.

Fans will have four options for terms and conditions to apply: club seats, priced at $495 each, sideline A/upper center mid section seats sold at $174 a pop, corner end line B/upper sideline seats valuated at $125 each, or upper corners/endline seats at $98 apiece.

The Red Bulls' holiday pack applies to certain sections of their arena, ranging from $98-$495

Charlotte FC mocked the Red Bulls’ high-priced bundle by not only offering fans two-match tickets for $20 total, but by also disclosing that if the club plays Miami in its home opener, then ‘each home opener ticket will still be valid. You’re good.’

A fan reacted to The Crown’s emphatic response to the Red Bulls’ holiday pack by sharing a meme of the word ‘shade’ flying over a skyscraper.

What’s more, is that Red Bulls fans weren’t happy with their club’s holiday promo.

‘There’s no way you seriously tweeted this out?’ said a user on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘Once again you show how out of touch you are as a club with its community.’

‘Y’all [for real] keep dropping the ball every season,’ commented another. ‘So painful to be a fan.’

Someone else pointed: ‘really showing everyone what is really important to you and it’s not your fans.’
