Sarah Ferguson has been caught in a web of deceit, revealed in a flattering email she sent to Jeffrey Epstein, referring to him as a ‘steadfast, generous, and supreme friend.’ According to the Mail on Sunday, the Duchess of York apologizes in the email for disappointing the convicted sexual offender, after he allegedly threatened her family with destruction in a alarming phone call.

In the latest episode of Palace Confidential , royal experts weighed in on whether or not this scandal may spell the end for the House of York. And no one is more well placed than historian and author Andrew Lownie, who has recently written Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. 'Never say never with Sarah Ferguson,' Andrew said. 'She does keep popping back.

On a recent episode of Palace Confidential, royal experts discussed whether this scandal might spell trouble for the House of York. Historian and author Andrew Lownie, who recently published Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, commented on Ferguson’s situation. He remarked, “With Sarah Ferguson, you can never say never. She has a way of reappearing.”

'She is a sort of Houdini of the Royal Family and we thought it would be the end of her in 2010 when she had the News of the World sting for selling access to Andrew. 'But I think this is a slightly different order.

Andrew described Ferguson as a “Houdini of the Royal Family,” referencing her ability to bounce back, even after a 2010 scandal involving the News of the World sting operation, where she was exposed for selling access to Prince Andrew. He suggested that this situation is on a different level.

Her ninth life is gone but she may well go off to China or indeed back to the States.' For now, King Charles is said to not want to cut all ties to reflect their loyalty, ensure his sister-in-law doesn't go rogue like the Sussexes and respect the wishes of his late mother the Queen.

It seems her ninth life is over, but she may eventually head to China or return to the United States. Currently, King Charles is reluctant to completely sever ties, acknowledging their bond and attempting to prevent her from acting out like the Sussexes, while respecting the late Queen’s wishes.

But Andrew added: 'The public feel something needs to be done but there's always this worry that it is easier to keep your enemies close an clearly there is a danger of creating enemies here. 'It's a running implicit threat all the way through the research for my book Entitled that she was hinting that she might do these things.

Andrew further expressed, “The public believes action is needed, but there’s always the fear of making matters worse by creating adversaries. Throughout my research for Entitled, there was this constant undercurrent of her threatening potential actions.”

'It happened with the divorce, it happened later on when she was writing her books an I suspect it helped her get some of the payments from the Queen so I don't think she's adverse to hinting at this.' When asked the same question, Richard Eden, the Daily Mail's Diary Editor, said he hoped it wouldn't be the end of the House of York 'in the sense of their daughters' Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor, similarly cautioned against a possible end for the House of York, highlighting his hope that it wouldn’t impact Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

'They are blameless in this,' he said. 'They've never put a foot wrong so they don't deserve to be punished for the sins of their father. I hope that they will have a role in the future. 'I personally think it should be the end of the Duchess of York and her role in public life. I don't see how it can't be.'

Fergie's apology was apparently in response to a phone conversation with her spokesman and adviser James Henderson where he claims Epstein threatened legal action.

Describing the call today as 'chilling', Mr Henderson said: 'He [Epstein] said he would destroy the York family and he was quite clear on that. He said he would destroy me. He wasn't shouting.

'He had a Hannibal Lecter-type voice. It was very cold and calm and really menacing and nasty'. Henderson went on: 'It was a chilling call and I’m surprised anybody was ever friends with him given the way he talked to me'.
