On Wednesday, Prince William’s visit to an oasis city in Saudi Arabia bore a striking resemblance to scenes from the popular BBC spy thriller, “The Night Manager.”

The 43-year-old heir to the throne sported stylish grey-framed sunglasses from Finlay & Co, paired with a shirt and a checkered jacket, while he toured the area accompanied by local artists.

Spectators might have mistaken him for Tom Hiddleston, the actor famed for his role in the series, as if William were stepping straight from a film set.

“The Night Manager,” adapted from a John Le Carré novel, features Hiddleston as a hotel night manager who becomes embroiled in a dangerous espionage mission to penetrate a group of arms traffickers.

It appears Prince William is a fan of the series, frequently seen in ensembles that echo the wardrobe of Jonathan Pine, the character played by Hiddleston.

William has opted for a more laid-back, contemporary style, moving away from traditional formal wear, reflecting his modern approach to royal duties.

And it seems the new sartorial direction has been inspired by fellow Etonian Tom Hiddleston’s lookbook, with a series of classic open shirt and jacket combinations, and relaxed linen shirts.

The prince looked the spitting image of Tom Hiddleston (pictured) in The NIght Manager as he was shown around the AlJadidah Arts District wearing a similar pair of shades to the actor 

The shades from the eyewear brand cost £160 and come in several colours with William opting for the ‘smoke’ grey Marshal model. 

Walking alongside locals the prince looked like he could’ve taken on the starring role in Hiddleston’s spy thriller as he was shown around the AlJadidah Arts District.

He also opted for a pair of dark trousers, a light blue patterned shirt which he left unbuttoned at the top, and a patterned grey jacket – a look that was strikingly similar to an outfit worn by the A-list actor in series two of the BBC show. 

While William opted for a grey look, his Etonian schoolmate went for a light blue version of the outfit but still with the same pair of sunglasses as he carried out his dangerous mission. 

Later that same day, while visiting the the Sharaan Nature Reserve, in AlUla, William stole another of the Loki star’s looks, this time donning a khaki green linen shirt with his dark trousers as he took in the sights.

Fans of the Night Manager will no doubt have noticed the actor wearing a very similar outfit in the first episode of series one of the show where his character Jonathan Pine attempts to help a wealthy hotel guest.

And William’s admiration for the star appears to go beyond his starring role in the BBC thriller – the Prince has been stealing the actor’s looks for years.
