An exclusive ‘global’ preschool for children between the ages of zero and five has opened in the UK – and it has a touching royal connection.

This month, only 106 youngsters will be welcomed through the Grade II listed doors of Odyssey’s campus in Marylebone, London.

With eight rooms set across three floors, the unique building will allow pupils to move between lessons with ease – from time spent with art and music specialists in the ‘Jam Studio’ to an outdoor area with a grow-your-own garden and climbing wall.

‘The £2 million investment in the campus ensures that every detail of each learning space has been meticulously crafted,’ Angela Ang, Odyssey London’s Head of School said.

‘The one-of-a-kind campus allows us to teach children communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, with learning based around each child’s own interests and pace.’

Odyssey also offers culinary lessons where ‘children will learn about, create and enjoy cuisine from across the world’.

But parents can breathe a sigh of relief as the all-organic breakfast, lunches and dinners will be freshly prepared by the in-house chef, rather than the children themselves.

The exclusive preschool also has a royal connection as Prince William and Princess Catherine’s go-to filmmaker Will Warr captured the ‘incomparable’ campus for a new promotional video.

‘I felt incredibly privileged to have first access to Odyssey; the space is truly magical,’ the royal videographer said.

‘The beauty of the buildings coupled with the expertly designed learning and development environment will enable children’s curiosity to run wild, little minds to light-up, and many adventures to be had in Odyssey’s classrooms.

‘Odyssey really is a preschool incomparable to others,’ he added.

Warr, 34, has long been trusted by the Prince and Princess of Wales, working with them on a range of projects including their tenth wedding anniversary video in 2021 and Catherine’s emotional cancer recovery video in 2024.

In the warm three-minute video released by Kensington Palace, Catherine announced a poignant return to royal duties after she finished preventative chemotherapy.

She is seen frolicking through a field with her husband and three children, laughing up a storm during card games and larking around on the beach.

‘It’s always an honour to produce films for the Prince and Princess of Wales,’ the filmmaker wrote on Instagram. ‘But this one was particularly poignant.’

Warr is an expert in making warm, candid and intimate films of the royal couple and their children – because that is exactly what he does with his own family.

Earlier this year the married father-of-one headed to Norfolk to create a short movie of his own wife Sarah, young son Fred and their friends on holiday, including on dunes that appear to match where he spent time with William, Catherine, George, Charlotte and Louis.

He also does weddings, and has worked across projects with several brands, such as Red Bull, Brooklyn Brewery, Uber Eats, Miele, Bloom & Wild, Diageo, Puma and Holland Cooper.

Warr, who now boasts 44,600 followers on Instagram and counting, is followed by Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing – having produced content for his brand Candy Kittens – as well as Matt Porteous, the award-winning Royal Family photographer.

The videographer’s current focus seems to be creating content for foodie TikTok channel Topjaw, which asks celebrities and culinary VIPs about their favourite restaurants.

Perhaps Warr’s obsession with good food is what led him to film a video for Odyssey Preschool – where little ones can tuck into homemade bran muffins for breakfast, free range roasted pork loin with apple sauce for lunch and steamed bao buns for dinner.

Catherine would no doubt be approving of Warr’s latest project as she has previously emphasised the importance of art in shaping a child’s development.

In January, the Princess of Wales wrote on X/Twitter: ‘Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and – most importantly – having lots of fun together!

‘These skills are key throughout our lives, shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us.’

Founded in 1999, Odyssey has delivered award-winning early education across seven campuses in Singapore and Malaysia.

The Marylebone campus which is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach – a child-directed, hands-on curriculum where the children develop by exploring their own interests – will mark Odyssey’s first venture outside of Asia.

Languages, music, art and cooking all form part of the Odyssey curriculum alongside ‘stretchers’ – a key concept of the curriculum which uses storytelling and real-life experiences to make a child’s world bigger and stretch their imaginations.

Odyssey offers full-days only and the minimum attendance is two days per week.

It will cost parents £150 per day which works out at £750 per week and £39,000 per year. All full-time places are offered with an eight per cent fee reduction at £690 per week and £35,880 per year.
