Over the weekend, the United Kingdom paused in reflection, honoring those lost in wars during the Remembrance Sunday service and the Festival of Remembrance concert.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were immersed in a lively weekend filled with celebrity encounters, joining the likes of Lauren Sánchez, Adele, and Oprah Winfrey.
Before gracing Kris Jenner’s extravagant 70th birthday celebration, Meghan, aged 44, and Prince Harry, 41, made an appearance at the Baby2Baby Gala at the Pacific Design Centre in West Hollywood, accompanied by tennis legend Serena Williams.
Clad in a fitted black long-sleeve top and a matching midi-skirt, Meghan posed warmly with Williams, also 44. Harry, sporting a tuxedo adorned with a poppy, stood beside them.
Notably, the Duchess chose not to wear a poppy as she posed with Baby2Baby co-CEOs Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof, both of whom have been recognized among Time’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024.
Baby2Baby is dedicated to providing essential items like diapers and clothing to children in need throughout America. The annual gala, according to the organization’s website, is a major fundraiser, generating millions to support their charitable efforts.
The Sussexes evening, however, didn’t stop there, and after finishing up at the charity gala, Meghan and Harry took off for another glamorous affair just minutes away – the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch’s star-studded bash at Jeff Bezos’s $165M mansion in Beverly Hills.
Their fun-filled evening was worlds away from the solemn occurrences that took place in the UK on Remembrance Sunday – an event that, prior to relinquishing his royal role in 2020, Harry would have been expected to attend and lay a wreath at Whitehall.

He nonetheless arrived for an evening of James Bond-themed celebrations, entering the venue walking slightly ahead of Meghan, who trailed just behind him, aglow with an ear-to-ear smile.
Talking to the Daily Mail about their entrance, UK body language expert Judi James explained that Harry longed to protect his wife from paparazzi, taking a serious approach, and allowing the attention to be on a ‘radiant’ Meghan.
The expert said that Harry and Meghan’s ritual here is ‘more old-school A-list, with a rather serious and focused-looking Harry towing Meghan along like her personal bodyguard.
‘In star terms, this reflects her return to the big screen as an actress, while he seems to be back in ‘Spare’ mode here.
‘Harry’s expressionless mode directs the attention to his wife here, although his ritual is one favored by the likes of Travis Kelce, with the outstretched arm held behind and away from his torso to suggest muscle power, and with his hand gripped around Meghan’s in a similar ‘Big Paw’ Travis grasp that speaks of a desire to protect as they go past the press.’
The expert referred to the announcement made last week that Meghan is to return to acting and will make a cameo as herself in a new film, Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson and Jack Quaid.
Meghan is best known for her role as Rachel Zane in the hit US TV drama Suits, but she also had Hollywood roles in Horrible Bosses, Get Him To The Greek and Remember Me.
She was also once a ‘briefcase girl’ – one of the models who hold suitcases full of cash – on the US version of Deal Or No Deal.

The expert added that when entering a Hollywood event, there are a variety of entrances attendees can make, and revealed which one Meghan chose on Saturday evening.
She said, ‘There are several rankings of A-list body language behaviour on arrival at a venue or party, and they vary between the Kim Kardashian ‘Solo Goddess’ camera-friendly look to an Adele ‘Hiding my face with my bag’ pose that suggests she’s too cool and famous to need the publicity.’
‘Meghan keeps her eyes lowered, which has gentle echoes of Adele’s cut-off with her bag over her face, the implication being similar, as in an ‘I am too big a star to openly court the cameras or adopt poses like the reality girls are probably doing’ look.
‘A cut-off ritual like the lowered and hidden eyes suggests a coy lack of need to perform for the cameras, and it implies an assumption of rabid press interest rather than a courting of it.
‘But Meghan also performs a smile of utter delight here. Her cheeks are rounded, and her lips are hiked up high at the corners to create a symmetric shape.
‘A smile like this will be an acknowledgement to the fans and the cameras but without any posing effort or showboating.’
Meghan’s attendance at Kris Jenner’s party comes amid rumours that the Duchess could be set to launch a Kardashian-style ‘mega brand’ after she was spotted cosying up to the British Dragon’s Den star who masterminded Kim’s hugely popular Skims range.
Multi-millionaire Emma Grede shared a flurry of posts featuring Meghan as the ‘star guest’ at her Los Angeles dinner on Instagram last month.

PR experts speculated the posts were an indication that Prince Harry’s wife is leaning on the business woman’s years of expertise ahead of launching a new venture.
The Duchess was photographed attending Emma’s vegan banquet, which celebrated women ‘owning their power’ and helping ‘each other get s**t done’.
Rumours of a potential new venture for the Duchess spread last month after she posted two clips on Instagram showing her applying lipstick – with the brand names obscured.
It’s a ‘tell-tale sign’ she may be gearing up to promote her own range, industry sources said at the time.
One told The Mail on Sunday: ‘On her Instagram reel, the make-up lined up on her dressing table was unbranded or had the brand labels obscured, which felt deliberate.
‘That’s a tell-tale sign Meghan has something in the pipeline. The fact she didn’t want to promote or reveal any other brand is a big clue that she’s gearing up to promote her own range eventually – it is a sign for industry insiders.’
As the world waits to see what Meghan’s rumoured new business venture will be, PR experts speculated that Ms Grede’s posts could be the biggest indication yet.
Sources close to Ms Grede have ruled out an official collaboration, but PR guru Chad Teixeira believes their blossoming friendship could be a sign that Meghan is leaning on her years of expertise.
He said: ‘Meghan Markle’s appearance at Emma Grede’s Los Angeles dinner series is far too strategic to be a coincidence.
‘The timing is significant and there’s growing speculation that Meghan is preparing to launch a fashion line, and Emma Grede, who has built billion-dollar brands like Skims and Good American, is exactly the kind of collaborator who could help her do that successfully.
‘When you look at the imagery and social media content surrounding the event, it’s clearly not just a casual dinner.
‘The visuals are polished, professional, and designed to frame Meghan and Emma as equals within the same creative space.
‘That kind of staging doesn’t happen by accident, it’s a soft-launch strategy we often see in PR when something bigger is on the horizon.’
Experts have also speculated that using the unrivaled expertise of a woman trusted by the Kardashians would be appealing for Meghan, who has repeatedly shown her fondness for the famous family, from sending matriarch Kris Jenner an As Ever press package to later featuring the ‘momager’ on her Instagram story.
