Lady Marina Windsor has announced she is engaged.
The philanthropic executive, 32, who is the third cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, shared the news to Instagram on Sunday with a series of sweet snaps of herself and now-fiancé Nico Macauley, also 32.
A short caption, reading ‘very happy’ was enough to convey how Marina, the granddaughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, felt about being betrothed to her partner of two years and becoming the future Mrs Macauley.
Lady Marina and Nico, an account executive with Zscaler, have rarely been spotted out together, which has perhaps left fans shocked by the news of the happy engagement.
The royal, who was 25th in line to the British throne before being excluded in 2008 after she was confirmed as a Roman Catholic, was recently spotted at a lavish soirée in Kew Gardens attended by the King and Queen, though her beau was nowhere in sight.
And though he has made a series of loved up appearances on her Instagram page, accompanying captions have often left fans wondering about the nature of their relationship.
Today all was confirmed with three images showing Lady Marina’s gorgeous engagement ring which was front and centre in all posts.
The silver ring featured what appeared to be a smooth circular onyx gemstone sealed in the centre of the jewel.

Congratulations are in order for Lady Marina Windsor who has announced via Instagram that she is now engaged to boyfriend Nico Macauley

The first picture featured the newly engaged couple smiling gleefully for the camera while Marina showed of the precious jewel with lightly manicured nails.

The next image was dimly-lit and taken in what appeared to be the backdrop of a restaurant, though her large grin could be spotted from miles away.
The third picture showed Marina in a yellow dress and Nico in a navy blue wool jacket, as the happy pair shared a toast to the good news.
Messages of congratulations poured in for the soon-to-be husband and wife, including one from her younger sister, Lady Amelia Windsor, 29.
‘Yippeeee!’ wrote the model.
Other people stated their pleasure at the happy news, while one person said the announcement left them ‘crying’.
In 2023, Marina shocked fans when she attended a pal’s wedding wearing traditional Nigerian attire.

The intending couple, both 32, have been dating for around two years. They celebrated the news with a toast together

She simply captioned the post, ‘very happy’, alongside a selection of flower emojis

While some members of the Royal Family were preparing their outfits for King Charles’s Coronation, Lady Marina Windsor was seen enjoying dressing up in a Nigerian custom look.
She was spotted donning a head wrap, called a gele, with a lilac, laced dress, which was all to do with a friend’s wedding in the West African country.
She was joined by her fellow British bridesmaids, Marina Cochrane and Rose Crosthwaite, who work in the art world.
Lady Marina has been on the Buckingham Palace balcony at previous royal occasions but wasn’t there for the Coronation because she’s not a working member of ‘The Firm’.
