Princess Eugenie has shared a heartwarming Mother’s Day post to Instagram, featuring a rare picture of her sons August and Ernest and her mother Sarah Ferguson.
The royal, 35, was pictured reading her boys a children’s picture book as they sat in her lap in an adorably candid image shared on Sunday.
It had clearly been a great day of celebrations for the family, as presents, gift bags and wrapping paper could be seen in the background.
Eugenie even shared a homemade card, which read ‘Mama happy day’ and signed ‘Ernie and Augie’.
They’d made a brilliant attempt at colouring in too, with little drawings dotted around the heart-shaped paper.
Eugenie also shared a photo as she laughed with Sarah Ferguson, affectionately known as Fergie, at Ernie’s christening in 2023.
‘Happy Mother’s Day from this proud mama and daughter xxxx,’ she wrote alongside the post.
Earlier on Sunday, the Princess of Wales had shared her own Mother’s Day message in a video montage filmed in nature.

The clip, which celebrates the power of Mother Nature, was accompanied by a statement signed off by Catherine, 43.
She wrote: ‘Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary. This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C.’
Kate herself appears only briefly in the video to touch the bark of a tree, and her face was not shown.
Her husband Prince William was only seen by the backs of his legs, accompanied by the family dog, Orla.
Eugenie shares her sons August, four, and Ernest, two, with her husband Jack Brooksbank, whom she married in 2018.
March has been a fun-filled month for Eugenie, with her attending Cheltenham Festival’s ‘Style Wednesday’ 10 days ago along with cousin Zara Tindall and Queen Camilla.
The three royals joined a rather chilly Cheltenham for day two of the festival – traditionally dubbed Ladies Day but renamed last year after the show announced they would hand out fashion awards to both men and women.
She is also set to appear on Cressida Bonas’s new podcast. Cressida is Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend – and the couple were originally set up by Eugenie.

Earlier this month, Princess Eugenie celebrated her 35th birthday, marked with another post to Instagram.
In the heartwarming photo posted on Instagram, the royal is seated at a picnic table with August, four, and Ernest, two.
The princess, who is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, is smiling widely in the picture and looking straight at the camera.
Her little boys are sat across the table with their backs turned to the photographer.
Dressed in pale blue jeans and a black, pinstriped jacket with pockets on the front and epaulettes fastened to the shoulders, Princess Beatrice’s sister looks happy and at ease in the domestic setting.
The toy diggers nearby and the plates of food set before August and Ernest suggest the three were enjoying an al fresco lunch in the grounds of their Old Windsor home when they were caught on camera, presumably by Eugenie’s husband and the boys’ father, Jack Brooksbank, 38.
While their eldest son, August, is dressed in pale jeans and a navy hoodie, the couple’s youngest, Ernest, is wearing a blue tracksuit featuring Mickey Mouse.

Cousins Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall gave Cheltenham Festival a very royal welcome
Although August’s face is completely obscured, Ernest’s profile is visible in the picture, leading royal fans to note his resemblance to his mother, an art director at the Hauser & Wirth gallery.
One fan commented: ‘Happy birthday. Enjoy your day. Your younger one looks like you even from the side. Love the little bench and table too.’
Someone else agreed: ‘Gosh your youngest looks so much like you even from the side’.
A third fan acknowledged Eugenie’s philanthropic work, writing: ‘A very happy birthday to you, Princess Eugenie! Thank you for all that you do for the ocean’.
The photograph, which amassed almost 26,000 likes at the time of writing, attracted a number of other comments, the vast majority of which were celebratory in tone.
