Seeing football stars flood their social media with festive images has become a tradition in recent years.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah regularly share with their millions of followers what they are doing on Christmas Day.

It would make some people think how footballers of a bygone era were able to spread their Christmas cheer at this time of year.
