Barcelona have reportedly drawn up a list of nine players they are prepared to offload this summer, including instrumental midfielder Frenkie de Jong and fan favourite Gavi.

The Catalan giants moved one game away from sealing this season’s La Liga title with a thumping 4-3 victory over Real Madrid at the weekend. Hansi Flick’s side came close to reaching the Champions League final and have already collected two domestic trophies this season, yet their financial plight remains potentially destructive.

It took the intervention of the Spanish government – and, oddly, some help from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez – to register Dani Olmo for the remainder of the season. If Barcelona are to comply with La Liga’s strict financial regulations next term, they will undoubtedly have to trim their wage bill.

That process is expected to take the form of a mass clear-out, according to SPORT. There are a few blatantly untouchable figures; Barcelona will do all they can to keep Lamine Yamal for the entirety of his professional career while the likes of Pedri and Raphinha aren’t going anywhere any time soon.

However, De Jong is thought to be available for sale if he doesn’t sign a new contract this summer. The Dutch midfielder earned special praise from Inter manager Simone Inzaghi after his role across the two legs of the Champions League final. “Frenkie de Jong impressed me just as much as Yamal,” the Italian boss noted.

Flick is also suitably enamoured with the returning controller, who appears to have shaken off nagging injury concerns. Yet, De Jong could be joined on his way out of the club by another Flick favourite; Gavi. The 20-year-old tyro is still being eased back from an ACL tear and has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to Barcelona, but the club may be compelled to sell if the financial package is inviting enough.

Fellow academy graduates Fermin Lopez, Pablo Torre, Hector Fort and Inaki Pena are all also named in the report.

Ronald Araujo’s future remains uncertain. After suffering from a reported “mental block”, the Uruguay centre-back is expected to discuss a potential summer departure, with a move to Manchester United tentatively floated.

Pau Victor could also be offloaded just one year after his arrival alongside the waning prodigy Ansu Fati. It has been claimed that Barcelona’s approach for Marcus Rashford hinges on finding a suitor for Fati, which could accelerate the forward’s exit.
