Arsenal defender Ben White gave a trademark interview that was straight to the point after the Gunners’ 4-3 win over Luton – as fans hailed his ‘iconic’ directness.

Mikel Arteta’s men maintained their four-point lead at the top of the table after a hard-fought victory at Kenilworth Road – which saw Declan Rice net a dramatic late winner in stoppage time.

White played the full 90 minutes of the game at right back and even provided an assist to Gabriel Jesus for Arsenal’s second of the game, but it was his deadpan comments after the game which caught the most attention.

White certainly made it easy work for Fjortoft, as he quickly answered his question about Arsenal’s nack of winning games late.

Former Norway star Jan Aage Fjortoft praised the defender for his 'quick and sharp' responses

‘Winning in any concept… It’s a hard place to come and we’ve come and got three points which is difficult,’ he replied.

He was in similar form when asked about Arsenal’s worries over conceding goals from set pieces.

‘We knew they were going to be a threat from set pieces and we didn’t manage to nullify that, but when you win like that it makes up for it.’

He was then quizzed over how Arsenal matched up with title rivals like Liverpool and Manchester City, he said: ‘It’s the same as last year, it’s a long long season, so we’re taking it game by game and doing our best.’

And no one will be surprised about how he responded when asked what the difference was between Arsenal this season and last season.

‘I guess you’ll find out, I suppose.’

White has long been known for his simple approach to the game after admitting that he is not a big fan of football and does not watch games when Arsenal aren’t playing.

He has also made it clear in the past that he wishes to be known by his full name Benjamin instead of Ben.

Arsenal fans were loving White’s latest responses to the interview from Fjortoft as they joked it was like he was ‘in court’.

Another fan simply said: ‘Ben White’s post match interviews are superb,’ while another described his interviews as ‘iconic’.

One sarcastically claimed he was getting better at interviews, saying the player ‘even gave a smile’.
