Kevin Schade has been pulled out of Brentford’s Premier League clash against Everton after getting injured in the warm-up.

The German was initially named in Thomas Frank’s starting line-up at the Gtech Community Stadium but pulled up less than an hour before kick-off.

Schade was going through shooting drills with his Brentford team-mates before disaster struck as he struck an effort goal-bound.

The 21-year-old rolled along the ground on the edge of the box while holding his groin as team-mates looked on before eventually intervening.

First-team players and backroom staff approached Schade who looked in serious discomfort before the physio staff arrived on scene to assess the situation.

Other players began to signal in the direction of the dugout that a change to the starting line-up would need to be made with Schade clearly unable to feature.

Brentford manager Frank reacted by replacing the injured star with 22-year-old midfielder Keane Lewis-Potter.

Schade has made five Premier League appearances for the Bees so far this season, scoring one goal in the process in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

His injury will come as a blow to Brentford who are already missing Rico Henry who is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious ACL injury during training.
