The six Premier League sides in the Champions League have discovered their league phase fixtures – and it’s a dream start for Newcastle.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle discovered their eight opponents for the league phase during the draw in Monaco, and now the full schedule, including dates and kick-off times, has been released.

Newcastle, having qualified for the competition by finishing fifth in the top-flight last season, will face reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in one of their eight games.

Interestingly, it has been confirmed that they will take on LaLiga giants Barcelona at the electrifying St James’ Park for their opening match on September 18.

Kick-off is at 8pm BST, a prime-time slot ripe for broadcasters.

Their league phase campaign will then come to an end against PSG at the Parc des Princes on January 28, again with an 8pm BST start time.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal face challenging starts, with Chelsea traveling to Bayern Munich and Arsenal to Athletic Club. Chelsea’s final match will be away at Napoli on January 28, while Arsenal will face the underdogs Kairat Almaty at home.

Another exciting match will feature Mikel Arteta’s squad visiting last year’s finalists Inter Milan for their second-to-last match on January 20.

Manchester City will launch their quest for the illustrious trophy by taking on Napoli at the Etihad, with Liverpool set to host Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

Pep Guardiola’s side will then round off the league stage against Galatasaray on January 28, the same day Liverpool host Qarabag on Merseyside.

Tottenham, seemingly reinvigorated under Thomas Frank, returned to the Champions League after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final last season.

Their reward is a reasonable schedule, albeit one featuring PSG and Dortmund.

Their opening match comes against Villarreal, while they will round off the first proper phase of the competition away at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
