Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could make their returns from injury in their FA Cup tie with Liverpool on Sunday.

The Red Devils’ season has been ravaged by various injuries and illnesses, with Ten Hag often bemoaning they have disrupted his side’s progress after a stellar 2022/23 campaign.

However, with a crunch FA Cup sixth-round tie at home to rivals Liverpool on the horizon, the Dutchman has confirmed a trio of his stars are back in contention.

“Hopefully, some return,” Ten Hag said of his players to TalkSPORT. “Aaron Wan-Bissaka was, yesterday, on the pitch. We expect also Harry Maguire back in the squad next week. Rasmus Hojlund has good hope he will make it as well.”

Sunday’s encounter with Liverpool represents United’s last chance to claim silverware this season, while they will also be out to spoil Jurgen Klopp’s farewell tour – the Reds could still win a quadruple before he steps down at the end of the season.

“It’s clear. It’s a great game for us and we are looking forward to that game,” Ten Hag added.

“But Liverpool will be the same and will also look forward [to it] as, for them, it’s also a very important game.

“We will plan it, prepare very well and we have to get ready for the game. It’s a huge game and a derby game, which we want to be in.”

United held Liverpool to a credible 0-0 draw at Anfield earlier in the season, while they will meet again at Old Trafford in Premier League action on April 7.
