The 2024/25 Premier League season at Craven Cottage was marked by excitement and significant matchups, including Fulham’s exhilarating 3-2 win against Liverpool, who would later become the champions, and a memorable triumph over Newcastle United, the FA Cup winners.

But perhaps the most unexpected showdown came off the pitch, deep inside the club’s dressing room.

A lighthearted incident from the season has become popular online, showing Fulham players Adama Traoré and Calvin Bassey involved in a spirited wrestling match, much to the delight of their fellow teammates.

The video captures the pair full of muscle facing off, with teammates like Kenny Tete and Emile Smith-Rowe looking on. In the initial round, Traoré—known for his incredible strength and slick arms—successfully pinned Bassey, even as the Nigerian defender struggled to maintain his footing, amusingly wearing flip-flops.

Not ready to accept defeat, Bassey changed his footwear and demanded a rematch, joking it would make all the difference. But it didn’t. Traoré once again got the better of him, slamming him down as Alex Iwobi, filming the whole thing, laughed uncontrollably.

Speaking to The Sun, Iwobi summed it up best: “I don’t see anyone defeating Adama Traoré. That guy is brick. He’s just dumbbells with legs. He’s too strong. He’s too, too strong.”

While Bassey may need to recover from the hit to his pride, Traoré can enjoy bragging rights as Fulham’s undisputed locker room champion—though manager Marco Silva might have had a word about the potential injury risk.
