Addo coached Son at German club Hamburg when the South Korea forward was a youth player
‘He’s very, very disciplined,’ he said. ‘This is what I hoped for, and I expected it.’
Son went onto make 73 appearances for Hamburg, scoring 20 goals before moving to Bayern Leverkusen.
He spent two years there before a big-money move to Tottenham in the Premier League, where he has become a world star.
He’s nearing 150 goals in a Spurs shirt but will be fully focused on helping his side move one step closer to World Cup knockout qualification on Monday.
A win would go a huge way to doing that, but anything less and they could find themselves in trouble with just one game remaining.
