Mason Mount has shown off his astonishing body transformation, displaying his new muscular physique before returning to Chelsea for pre-season.

The midfielder, who has won consecutive player of the year awards at Chelsea, first emerged as a regular in the Blues’ first team under Frank Lampard in 2019 as a diminutive playmaker but has transformed himself into one of the key players at the club through his technical quality and hard work.

One account tweeted: ‘Mason Mount has been putting in work,’ accompanied by a bicep emoji.

While another joked that it appeared as though Kyle Walker and Eden Hazard had had a son.

Another queried what ‘these young lads’ eat after going to the gym, seemingly in amazement at Mount’s transformation from 2019 to the present day.

Others joked that he had been ‘Bayernised’, in a reference to the apparent muscular physique that many players who play for the German giants are in. Notable examples of this include Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry.

‘A move to Bayern Munich happening soon or maybe he trained with Bayern Munich already,’ one supporter joked.

Another complimented Mount, writing: ‘Dude had been hitting the gym, he looks good.’

Mount is set to return to Chelsea soon for the start of pre-season as part of the second tranche of players alongside his fellow internationals within the squad.

It is set to be a big season for Mount, with the player likely to form a key part of Tuchel’s new-look Chelsea side as well as playing an important role for Gareth Southgate and England when the World Cup kicks off in Qatar in November.
