The biggest game of the Premier League season so far takes place this weekend and Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards will now be feeling even more nervous when their former clubs go at it.

Just one point separates the league leading Reds from the reigning champions ahead of the enormous clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

And Liverpool legend Carragher has made a huge bet with former City defender Richards on the outcome with the loser having to buy the winner an expensive designer suit.

‘Jamie (Carragher) was alluding to the fact I was maybe trying to be cocky, I wasn’t. I just think Man City have got too much quality.

‘They’re in a good run of form at this moment in time and long may it continue because these next couple of weeks, Liverpool, Newcastle, the Arsenal…’

At that point, Carragher interrupted and asked: ‘has Pep ever won at Anfield?’. Richards replied: “Once. We did stats, didn’t we. I can’t remember when it was, it was once in nine, and four draws as well.”

Carragher said: “One in nine when there was no crowd. I’m going there.’

Host Kate Abdo then interjected and asked what they were willing to bet on the game, and Richards replied: “Hmm, a suit! I want a new Thom Brown suit.”

Carragher looked a little concerned as he asked how much they cost before agreeing and shaking his hand.

Richards then made it clear that Carragher could have any suited he wanted of a similar price should Liverpool come out on top.

Thom Browne suits cost upwards of £2,000 on their website and are known for their quality.
