Jamie Vardy’s illustrious Leicester City tenure concluded last season, but the 38-year-old fan favorite is already generating buzz in Italy after his move to Serie A team Cremonese.

Vardy has inked an initial one-year contract with the newly elevated club, which includes an option to extend for an additional year. The transition appears to be going well, with Cremonese remaining unbeaten and currently third in the standings. Vardy has already made his debut, and reports indicate that he and his wife, Rebekah, along with their two children, are enjoying la dolce vita in Italy.

The Vardys have purchased a £2m villa in Salò, which historically is known as Benito Mussolini’s stronghold, and coincidentally, this is also the hometown of Vardy’s new teammate, Romano Mussolini (the great-grandson of the dictator).

In addition to adapting to their new environment, the Vardys are taking Italian language courses. Jamie is reportedly particularly fond of learning the more expressive parts of the Italian language.

According to a source cited by The Sun, “Jamie and Becky are thoroughly enjoying life in Italy and are doing everything possible to integrate smoothly. The entire family is taking Italian lessons, and Jamie is particularly familiar with some of the more colorful expletives.”

Apparently, his favourite so far is “Vaffanculo” – a not-so-polite phrase that loosely translates to “get lost.”

This behavior aligns with Vardy’s known persona: he’s previously been noted for intentionally learning provocative language in the dialects of his Premier League adversaries to provoke them during matches. Now, it appears he’s bringing that mischievous talent to Serie A, which could mean that Italian defenders might encounter more than just the physical challenge of keeping up with him on the pitch.
