John Terry has continued to revel in Chelsea’s 4-1 victory against Tottenham with a savage response to lifelong Spurs fan Luke Donald.

The winning Ryder Cup captain watched on as the home side suffered their first defeat of the Premier League season in a choatic game on Monday night.

Nicolas Jackson’s late hat-trick ensured Mauricio Pochettino’s side claimed all three points on his first return to his old club but only after goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Cole Palmer and red cards to Christian Romero and Destiny Udogie.

The former Blues skipper revealed his celebrations by sharing several pictures of himself dancing on the bar with his wife Toni and wrote the accompanying caption: ‘When Chelsea beat Spurs 4-1 on a school night and the tequila comes out, and you end up dancing and singing on the bar.’

Donald responded to his taunt with the message: ‘Big move up to 10th,’ along with a sarcastic clapping emoji.

Not to be outdone, Terry snapped back, replying: As you boys would know, sorry for the late reply been cleaning my [Premier League trophies].’

The 42-year-old’s one-man put-down of Tottenham affiliated sports personalities began with his back and forth with Spurs midfielder James Maddison.

The England international limped off in the first half of the game after picking up an ankle injury and had replied to Terry’s initial message with the question: ‘Jesus, u have ur eyes closed when it was 11 v 11 first 15 JT?.’

The home side had taken an early lead and had a goal disallowed before the momentum in the game shifted following a rash challenge byUdogie on Raheem Sterling that only merited a yellow card.

Despite their two-man disadvantage following the subsesqent dismissal of the 20-year-old and Romero, Postecoglou instructed his players to keep a remarkably high line, with eight outfield players often at the halfway line.

The daring approach allowed the home side to maintain an attacking threat but Pochettino’s side eventually found a way through to the delight of Terry.

He replied to the former Leicester star with three laughing face emojis and the words: ‘Madders, don’t worry mate you will get used to it’ – implying Chelsea will continue to beat Tottenham in future London derbies.
