Jorginho’s brutal reaction when his partner asked if he was going to propose has left fans in stitches following the release of a new Amazon show. 

Married To The Game has shed light on the lives of football WAGs around the world, including Cat Harding, who has been dating the Arsenal star since 2020.

The Champions League and Euro 2020 winner found himself in a high-pressure scenario off the pitch when getting ready for an event with Harding, as shown in the documentary.

He looked sheepish as he bluntly replied ‘No’, which caused Harding to laugh and remove her ring.

She said ‘Just in case, it’s free’, and without a smile, Jorginho said ‘It’s going to stay free’.

‘Excuse me?’ she asked, forcing him to repeat the statement. ‘What, today?’

He responded ‘yeah’, which did not impress his partner, and he shut the door behind him after saying he would wait downstairs.

One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) ‘he didn’t fold one bit’, while another said Jorginho was ‘taking press resistance to a whole new level’.  

Despite his reluctance to a marriage proposal earlier in the year, the pair did get engaged at the end of 2023 – with the big day penned in for the summer of 2025.

The Italian midfielder proposed in December with a love heart rose display and violinist that was captured on camera for the show. 

Harding told MailOnline: ‘We got engaged on December 6 so right before Christmas.

‘We had family over from Brazil afterwards, we had the kids here, we were so busy and then it was Christmas, then we went away and since we got back, we moved house.

‘But I did say to J last night I think I’m going to go to Italy next month and start looking at venues.

‘I think I have found my wedding dress but it is the second dress I have tried on so I probably need to go to some other shops.’

The Arsenal midfielder is used to high-pressure situations, winning silverware at Napoli and Chelsea before moving to North London in January 2023. 

He also sent Italy to the final of Euro 2020 in 2021 with a successful penalty kick, being part of the side that beat England in the final at Wembley.

Harding also features in the show on a number of topics, ranging from struggles related to body image by being in the spotlight, to organising an expensive garden party which featured Moet champagne bottles, dancers wearing flamboyant outfits, a giant harp, a balloon arch and 65kg of lemons. 

The 33-year-old also revealed to MailOnline that she avoids her fiancee for 24 hours after a defeat, postponing dinner plans when things do not go to plan on the pitch.
