Lamine Yamal has been one of, if not the, best footballers on the planet this season.

At merely 17, the Spanish prodigy has captivated the football world with his talents, netting 18 goals and delivering 25 assists in various competitions. His outstanding performances have been instrumental in helping Barcelona achieve a remarkable treble, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.

However, aside from trophies and statistics, there’s one timeless measure of football prowess, aside from proving oneself on a cold, wet night in Stoke: the crossbar challenge.

And in Yamal’s case, he passed it with the same ease and precision he displays on the pitch.

The graduate from La Masia academy took to Instagram to show off his skills in the #PoweradeCrossbarChallenge. The challenge was to shoot from the edge of the box and make the ball hit the crossbar precisely where a Powerade bottle was placed – specifically, in the corner.

“Hi, my name is Lamine Yamal and this is the Powerade Crossbar Challenge,” he said in Spanish before stepping up.

With cool confidence, Yamal struck the ball cleanly, finding the corner of the bar with pinpoint accuracy. The Powerade bottle toppled as cheers erupted from those watching.

In his caption, Yamal challenged fans to post their own attempts. Some already have – several proudly wearing shirts with his name on the back.

Think you could beat Barcelona’s wonderboy? Good luck. You’ll need it.
