A video of Marc Guehi bidding farewell to Crystal Palace has emerged online, even though his £35 million move to Liverpool fell through at the last moment.
The England international was on the brink of a switch to Anfield after Liverpool struck a deal with Palace and Guehi passed a medical in London.
Palace’s plan to sign a replacement failed when Brighton defender Igor Julio decided to join West Ham, forcing Palace to halt Guehi’s transfer.
Nevertheless, his goodbye video still appeared on X. The three-minute footage showcased Guehi’s best moments with Palace since transferring from Chelsea in 2021, highlighting goals, defensive skills, and celebrations from the recent FA Cup victory.
It ended with the message: “Thank you, Skip” – a nod to his role as captain.

Currently, there is no farewell in sight. Guehi remains at Selhurst Park, much to the joy of Palace fans who have watched him evolve into one of the Premier League’s elite defenders. The 24-year-old has also solidified his role in the England squad, playing a key part in their journey to the Euro 2024 final.
This season, he has started excellently, netting a goal in Palace’s 3-0 triumph over Aston Villa and helping maintain their unbeaten streak across six matches in all competitions.
Whether he will remain at Palace beyond January is uncertain, but fans are certainly thrilled to appreciate his contributions for as long as he stays.
