Leeds United’s American trio of Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie were all named in new manager Javi Gracia’s starting XI vs. Southampton Saturday – and made a bit of history in the process.
The trio are the first three American players in nearly 15 years to start for the same side in a Premier League match.
The last time the unique feat was achieved was way back in May 2008, when Kasey Keller, Brian McBride and Clint Dempsey all lined up for Fulham.
And we have to go back even further for the last trio of US outfield players to line up together.
That was also achieved by Fulham a year earlier, as Dempsey, McBride and defender Carlos Bocanegra shared the field.

Of course, Fulham have kept their American ties alive, with US national team stars Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson both mainstays for the side in defense this season.
Leeds’ clash with Southampton is a massive relegation ‘six-pointer’ with the teams in 19th and 20th place respectively.
Leeds are winless in their last 10 Premier League contests, with their last victory coming vs. Bournemouth on November 5.
