There will be many a sore head in Leeds on Tuesday morning following the club’s promotion back to the Premier League.

Going into Easter Monday’s fixtures, Daniel Farke’s side needed to beat Stoke and hope Sheffield United drop points at fellow promotion rivals Burnley later that evening.

Leeds United did their part with a 6-0 demolition job before an anxious watch as Burnley triumphed 2-1 to secure both teams’ return to the top-flight.

The Clarets win was greeted with mass jubilation across the Pennines as Leeds celebrated their own achievement.

And it was not just the players and coaching staff who rejoiced – with the partners of the former also partaking in the action.

Many WAGs took to Instagram stories to revel in the scenes, offering fans of the club an insight to what went down.

Sam Byram came on as a substitute during the Elland Road encounter and his loved one Charlotte Stokoe shared a video of the players jumping up and down with joy and dancing and spraying themselves in champagne.

Milana Dambra, the partner of playmaker Brenden Aaronson – who started the match, also shared a similar video of the squad celebrating alongside the caption: ‘Back in the Prem!’

Manor Solomon’s fiancee Dana Voshina updated fans with several posts on her Instagram story – including a selfie with the winger and a caption ‘You did it!!!!’. She also shared a video of him being serenaded by Leeds supporters outside Elland Road, which was being led by his team-mate Dan James.

Joel Piroe was the hero on Easter Monday, plundering in four goals in devastating 35-minute first-half spell, and his loved one Naomi Pattiwaell shared a picture of them together with their child on the pitch with the caption ‘My Team’.

Junior Firpo scored the club’s fourth goal against Stoke and his wife Julia shared a picture of them and their two children on the pitch post-match alongside the caption: ‘Premier League here we come.’

Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu has targeted winning the Championship title now they have secured promotion.

‘It’s amazing. If you look at the scenes here, as it was after the final whistle, just pure excitement,’ he reflected.

‘Within ourselves we’ve got another target, so we can enjoy this now, but we’ve got another target we want to achieve. But right now, it’s very good.’

Leeds came up short during last season’s run-in, dropping out of the top two before losing to Southampton in the play-off final, and Ampadu said that heartache had helped fuel Farke’s side this time round.

‘Definitely. The lads that were here last year – we all felt that hurt,’ he said.

‘After the game at Wembley we wanted to put it right straightaway and we’ve had to wait another season.

‘The lads who came in have been excellent, joining in with what we wanted to achieve.

‘Thankfully one part is done. Everyone knows what the next part is, but it’s fantastic.’

Farke, who won promotion to the Premier League twice with Norwich in 2019 and 2021, said he was ‘lost for words’ at their achievement.

‘It doesn’t happen that often’, he said while enjoying a celebratory beer.

‘You can see the atmosphere here, it’s incredible. It’s well deserved, 94 points at this stage is unbelievable. The lads should celebrate, all our supporters should celebrate.

‘We will make sure that this Easter Monday will last for one or two more days.

‘It’s difficult on such an emotional day to reflect too much, but it was a long road. It’s not easy to stabilise the ship after relegation and to deal with that.

‘We played fantastic last season, with 90 minutes, before the heart-breaking game at Wembley, but to show resilience and keep going, we deserve today to celebrate.’

Leeds final two games of the season see them host Bristol City on April 28 before travelling to Plymouth on May 3.
