Manchester United enthusiasts now have the chance to literally sport some of the club’s most iconic memories, due to a remarkable collaboration between designer Hattie Crowther and the fan platform UtdCultur.
The capsule, titled ‘Culture, Not Clout’, takes three unforgettable moments from United’s history and embeds them into hand-crafted shirts.
The latest memory selected is Amad Diallo’s unforgettable FA Cup victory against Liverpool in 2024, with his celebration intricately embroidered on a replica of the 2022/23 away jersey.
Wayne Rooney’s iconic bicycle kick versus Manchester City in 2011 – one of the most frequently replayed goals in Premier League history – is captured on the 2015/16 home jersey. Additionally, Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s treble-sealing goal in 1999, featuring his famous knee-slide celebration, has been incorporated into a 2012/13 home shirt.
Each shirt has been meticulously reimagined from genuine United kits, with subtle elements added to encapsulate the essence of the moment. One shirt features the humorous phrase “A toe poke? Treble.” inside the neckline, honoring Solskjær’s impact.
Crowther, renowned for converting football jerseys into distinctive fashion pieces, and UtdCultur, a platform devoted to the core of United support, describe the jerseys as a way to “wear the memories that shaped us.”
That they certainly do.
