Liverpool are sitting top of the Premier League table and the latest stats have proven why. Jurgen Klopp’s side have claimed the No.1 spot for ‘speed of attack’ this season.

Liverpool have been covering 1.96 metres per second during the 2023-2024 campaign – making them the fastest team in attack this season.

Joint second are Everton and West Ham on 1.94 metres per second, while Nottingham Forest come in third on 1.93 metres per second.

Manchester United come in next on 1.89 metres per second, with Bournemouth just behind them on 1.87 metres per second.

Crystal Palace and Sheffield United are tied on 1.80 metres per second, while Brentford sit middle of the pack on 1.79.

Aston Villa have recorded an average of 1.74, while Tottenham Hotspur – who are riddled with injuries – are just on 1.72 metres per second.

Fulham (1.69), Newcastle United (1.68), Chelsea (1.67) and Wolverhampton Wanderers are next on the list for metres per second.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion avoid the bottom three by recording a result of  1.59 per second for the 2023-2024 campaign so far.

It may comes as a surprise to some that both Arsenal and Manchester City are in the bottom three considering they are challenging for the title this season.

Arsenal came third bottom with 1.54 metres per second, while Manchester City came last with 1.26. In between them is Burnley, who registered 1.45 metres per second.

Arsenal looked to be on track to win the title last season before faltering over the final few months of the season, allowing City to win the league as the first leg of their Treble win.

The Gunners will be looking to reinforce their team during the January transfer window to prevent the same eventually – with fans calling for Mikel Arteta to purchase a striker.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s team are struggling to stay the pace this season, having lost to the likes of Aston Villa and drawn with Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Palace.

Liverpool, however, recorded an impressive win over Arsenal in the cup, having drawn 1-1 at Anfield just a few weeks earlier in the Premier League, and ensured that they are still in the running four different competitions.
