Diaz (10 goals) joins his Liverpool team-mates Mohamed Salah (19 goals), Diogo Jota (14 goals), Darwin Núñez (13 goals) and Cody Gakpo (11 goals) following his latest strike against the Hatters.

Meanwhile, Nunez has also achieved over 10+ assists in all competitions and would have more goals if the Uruguayan was more clinical in front of goal having previously hit the woodwork four times in one game.

Speaking post-match, Klopp said: ‘Exceptional game. I liked lots of the first half, but I saw that the boys and the crowd didn’t like it as much.

‘We started OK and you have to get used to an opponent. Then they scored their goal but everything was good until the final third, and then we were in a rush.

‘I told the boys it was a top game. We have to be calmer in decisive moments, then there were fireworks and wonderful goals. Fantastic night. It is just really good.’
