Luke Shaw is reportedly ready to leave Manchester United after 11 years.

The 30-year-old left-back understands that he will face limited playing time with Diogo Dalot, Patrick Dorgu, and newly-signed Diego Leon all competing for spots on the field.

Shaw is under contract for another two years. However, given the reduced chances to play, he is open to considering offers from Saudi Arabian clubs, as reported by The Sun.

Figures like Jordan Henderson, Ivan Toney, and Steven Gerrard—who has also taken on a managerial role—have ventured into such opportunities, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Riyad Mahrez.

Shaw has missed almost five years of his career due to injury troubles since joining the Red Devils.

A horrific double leg break in 2015, which sidelined him for almost 10 months, was one of just 28 injuries he has suffered during his time at Old Trafford.

Last season he was limited to just seven Premier League appearances, spending most of his time recovering from separate knee, calf, and muscle blows.

As per The Sun, Ruben Amorim is not in a rush to get rid of Shaw, who earns £150,000 per week.

He is a versatile and experienced player who filled in at centre-back during their Europa League final defeat by Tottenham in May. The former Southampton star won the competition with United back in 2017.

With 388 outings under his belt for club and country, London-born Shaw has plenty of wisdom to pass on to the next generation.

But even if he does not leave this summer there is the possibility of him going in January.

He admitted in May that he and his team-mates must question whether they are good enough to wear the shirt after their most dire season in recent memory, which saw them finish 15th in the Premier League.

‘We’re very sorry for what they have had to go through this season. Like I said, it’s been nowhere near good enough, and I can only apologise for that,’ Shaw told BBC Sport.

‘It hurts a lot. This season has not been good enough. Us as players, we have to question if we’re good enough for Man United because this season is not acceptable.

‘Where we are in the league, the results we’ve had, it’s not acceptable for a club like Manchester United that has won multiple trophies and always been one of the biggest teams in the world.

‘After results like this [against Tottenham], the season we’ve had, we have to question ourselves. It’s about where we go from here. Ruben for sure has a plan. He knows exactly what’s needed at this club. He’ll turn it around.’

It is foreboding that Leon, the £3.3million signing from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno, impressed Amorim on his debut.

The 18-year-old played the first half of their 0-0 draw with Leeds and the manager said: ‘He did really well. He’s learning things, he’s powerful, he’s going to be a very good player.’

All the same, Shaw did also feature against Leeds and is in their squad for their tour of the USA, where they meet West Ham on Sunday.
