Luton Town are trying to bring in Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan before the transfer window slams shut on Friday night.

Luton sporting director Gary Sweet confirmed the news to Sky Sports on Friday afternoon.

The newly promoted side have brought in plenty of players but haven’t broke the bank, Ryan Giles their most expensive signing at £5m.

The Belgian failed to make much of an impression at the Emirates before joining Crystal Palace on loan midway through last season.

He played nine games for the Eagles but didn’t have much of an impact.

Arsenal’s work in terms of incomings looks be done for the summer with Arteta confirming on Friday that he does not expect any more signings.

The Gunners have brought in Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya.
