Manchester fans have hailed the talent of Kobbie Mainoo after the youngster produced a stunning run and finish to secure victory for the Red Devils over Wolves at Molineux.

Erik ten Hag’s dominated proceedings for long stretches and enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 advantage heading into the final 20 minutes. But the game suddenly took a chaotic turn once the home side converted a controversial penalty.

United restored their two-goal lead just four minutes later but Gary O’Neil’s side hit back again in the 85th minute to set up a tense ending. Those fears were realised when Pedro Neto grabbed what looked to be a late equaliser in the fifth minute of a lengthy period of stoppage time.

The academy product executed a precise slaloming run before cutting onto his right foot and bending an effort past Jose Sa in the Wolves goal.

‘Mainoo is a generational talent. Pass it on if you agree.’ Wrote one fan on X, formerly Twitter.

Another declared: ‘I’m naming my child Kobbie Mainoo idc if she’s a girl, she’s gonna have to firm it.’ A third wrote: ‘kobbie mainoo leaving molinuex tonight after the thriller,’ which they accompanied with a video of Lionel Messi during his Barcelona days.
